What are biosolids?

Biosolids are processed organic material abundant in nutrients and organic matter.

What is biosolids recycling?

Biosolids recycling reclaims resourceful biosolids and other organic residuals that can be returned to the land to benefit soil and crops as fertilizers and soil amendments.

What are paper fibre biosolids ?

Paper fibre biosolids (PFB’S) are the organic residue generated during the wastewater treatment process in the production of recycling paper and paper products into new paper and paper products.  These biosolids, which contain a number of organic materials, primarily consist of paper fibre, clay and water.

What is finishing compost?

“Finishing compost” is a nutrient rich organic fertilizer derived from a controlled two-phase organic composting process that utilizes recycled organic lawn and yard waste.

During the initial phase, heat is generated by the natural decomposition of the material sanitizing the material and allowing for a faster rate of decomposition.

Following this phase the material then undergoes an “aerobic composting process” wherein the organic material is frequently turned and exposed to lower-temperatures allowing the material to decompose at a slower rate while allowing the product to stabilize.

It is the second stage where “finishing compost” is produced.  Under cooler aerobic conditions, natural microbes and bacteria flourish - enhancing the decomposition of the material resulting in a rich humus-like topsoil abundant in nutrients and organic matter.
